Artist Emma Hunt, the organiser of the exhibition, has spent the last couple of months during the pandemic offering free online art sessions to new artists.
With restrictions lifting, Ms Hunt plans on showcasing the works of new artists at an exhibition she will be hosting this summer at the Rum Story Museum in Whitehaven, Cumbria.
Artists and creatives interested in becoming a part of the event are required to send in their work by 13th June 2021. Organisers have asked applicants to send their portfolio and biography at: artistcallouts@gmail.com.
Ms Hunt is said to be suffering from Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, which heavily affects a patient's organs and joints. As a result of her intensifying illness, she has had to also give up her job working as a professional radiochemical analyst.
In the hope to divert her attention with the extra time on hand after leaving her job, Ms Hunt took up a new hobby in the form of art.
The BBC, in an interview with Ms Hunt, asked more about the exhibition's intent and what she hopes to get out of it.
She explained: "We are giving artists and photographers the chance to showcase their work at this stunning venue. We plan to showcase emerging artists as well as established ones. It's a great opportunity to be seen in a beautiful setting."
Sarah Reid, the winner of Sky Arts Landscape Artist 2018, is also a part of the event and shared with the BBC:
"The best paintings come from a place that is rich in history, strong in identity and has a diverse community. Whitehaven has all this in abundance, so it is not surprising that the art community has flourished and is inspiring the wider community at this time. Art is for everyone, and these days is not just for people with spare time, money for expensive materials and formal training."
