The Arts Council England is offering actors free virtual group play-reading sessions.
The Arts Council England, an independent body, formed in 1994, is offering free virtual group play-reading sessions twice a week as of June, 7th 2021.
Amidst the COVID-19 crisis, artists have struggled to set hands-on opportunities for acting roles in theatrical enactments and plays due to social distancing and lockdown restrictions.
The 'Shakespeare out loud' intends to provide actors with opportunities to polish up their Shakespearean dialogue delivery.
According to the event's description, the sessions will "alternate between Shakespeare and his contemporaries [to] more modern playwrights with a Jacobean twist, like Tom Stoppard and April de Angelis."
It is also noteworthy that organisers of the event have made enrolment open and accessible to all interested.
Applicants are not required to submit audition tapes or pay hidden fees. Organisers are also open to changing play readings according to the participants' choices and suggestions.
Sessions will run free of cost online throughout Spring and Summer 2021.
If you like Shakespearean literature and seek opportunities to go into theatre, do not forget to sign up. Tickets are available at: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/o/shakespeare-out-loud-online-16958842692
